  1. I like to connect to my breath. I focus on deep, deep inhalations and slow, full exhalations. I experience my body expanding, accepting in prana and feeling it saturate my body. As I do this, my body calms, my mind stills, and I am truly present in the moment. I then savour it, the sights, the sounds, the smells, the taste, the feeling of really living, not merely existing. Sometimes I even feel myself melt away a little, as a move towards a greater union with the world around me.

  2. My favourite ways to tap into mindful living patterns off the mat is through mindfulness in all that I do and say. Meditation is integral in this process. In addition I find it very important to take care of my whole self; mind, body, and spirit.

  3. I savor each moment. Instead of going through life in frustration or always wanting more, I have learned to take in the now and forget the past. Breathe in the present, experience the present. I stop thinking about tomorrow and start thinking about today and what I can do to take care of myself and others around me. Living in New York, sometimes you just need to breathe and when others see the calmness that leaks out of you they too will begin to just breathe to find that inner peace.
