Exploring Our Hip Flexors: The Psoas and Much More

Having a sound understanding of the function and mechanics of our various hip flexor muscles can greatly enhance our yoga practice and daily awareness of postural health. This workshop will explore the anatomy of our multiple hip flexors with an emphasis on addressing dysfunction, tension imbalances, and effective stretching. We will also discuss ‘quasi psoas’ groups and play with alignment techniques to target these fascia trains. We will enjoy a full hatha practice (mixed levels) incorporating these concepts.
Engage Your Postural Health: Practicing with Function and Purpose

Our daily health is greatly determined by how we settle into our posture. This yoga anatomy workshop will look at common posture related issues including Upper/Lower Cross Syndrome, Forward Head Syndrome, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, kinetic chain effects of poor posture and other similar conditions effecting postural health. We will explore how to address this from a restoration perspective and the necessary modifications in our practice to enhance recovery and re-balancing of our musculoskeletal and energetic systems.
Suitable for students and teachers
For 200 hour Yoga Alliance certified teachers the credits of the workshops can be applied towards the 500 hour certification. Each workshop is eligible for CEU with Yoga Alliance. Continuing Education Units are required to maintain your status as a Registered Yoga Teacher.
